Premier vows attacks on Indian students won't be tolerated
New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees, Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione and senior Cabinet Ministers met with over 40 leaders from the Indian Community to assure them to allay any fears over recent bashings of Indian students in Melbourne.
“Attacks on international students will not be tolerated in this state,” Mr Rees said.
“NSW Police are working with the community to strengthen community safety initiatives especially through the work of Multicultural Liaison Officers.”

This meeting comes one week after several leaders of the Chinese community were invited to attend a session with the Premier ( 26th May 2009).
CAF President Tony Pang was invited and attended this meeting, saying it was a worthwhile exercise as it opened up direct lines of communication between the Premier and the Chinese community.
