Racism
Australians are a diverse people with a majority who are tolerant and welcoming of the broad benefits brought to modern Australia by its diversity. Social harmony is too precious to be taken for granted. Multiculturalism
Multiculturalism recognises and promotes the socio-economic potential of diversity and facilitates and supports participation of all Australians in building a strong, harmonious and fair community.
Encouraging young Australian of all backgrounds to think creatively about diversity has the potential of cementinglong lasting advocacy for Multiculturalism. The Chinese Australian Forum partnered with B’nai B’rith in 2005 in conducting anannual Posters Competition with the theme “Moving Forward Together” as part ofthe Harmony Day program. In 2007 CAF become a sponsor and the Poster Competition received more than 3,000 entries from school across NSW. Winning posters wereexhibited at the NSW Parliament House and various local council chambers and libraries. Read more

What are myrights and responsibilities in communities, cultures and economies?
CAF recent contributions include promoting careers in Defence to Asian communities, submissionon Citizenship Testing, and working with ICAC to promote better understanding of the principle and procedure for selective school selection and development approval. Read more
The NSW Anti-Discrimination Act
Chinese Australian Forum wrote to thePremier and the Minister of Education and Training alerting the fact that the current Anti-Discrimination Act provided little protection against racial harassment, and that the Act be amended to make racial harassment illegal as recommended by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal magistrate and as is already the case in WA, US, UK, Canada and NZ.
