Membership is open to all. Current membership comprises a wide cross-section of the community. The majority are Chinese Australian professionals and members of the business community.
Issues & Objectives
- The Forum addresses sensitive and potentially divisive issues on race relations, native title, republicanism, extremism, immigration, multiculturalism social justice and discrimination
- In a climate of changing social and political attitudes, the objective of full and proper representation and advocacy is crucial in ensuring that individual rights, civil liberty, and dignity are protected without compromise.
- The promotion of the integration Chinese people into mainstream Australian society.
- To promote the awareness and participation of Chinese Australians in the political process of this country
- Provision of suitable responses to public issues affecting all Australians and in particular Chinese Australians
- To promote the ideals of multiculturalism and inter-racial
understanding and harmony in Australia, as well as the advancement and
development of Australia
The Chinese Australian Forum continues to gain prominence through its activities, attracting recognition at national and international levels.
